Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

subpoena information

We are serving a ''subpoena'' to appear in court and she is refusing/hiding from service. She needs to have 21 days from service, so will this push the court date back?? We are asking for a drug test, among other things and want to know what avoiding the service can accomplish for her?

Re: subpoena information

Generally if a person is hiding from service, the party serving can obtain an affidavit to that effect from the process server, and request the court to allow you to publish notice of the subpoena in a local newspaper. If the person then does not appear, you can be granted default judgment. Yes, it will probably delay your court action.
