Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Telephone Recordings

In the state of Utah, can a person record a conversation without the other parties consent and/or knowledge and have it be admissable in a court?

What Utah Statute speaks to this issue? I would like to look it up on the Utah Statutes home page, but am having trouble finding the correct statute that deals with this.

Thanks!

Re: Telephone Recordings

I am not aware of a statute in Utah. It is my understanding that generally one can record any conversation to which one is a party without permission of another. Thus you could record a call to you from Mr. X, without giving him notice or obtaining permission. That conversation MIGHT be admissible in court, but the judge would probably want to review it before it was submitted or permitted as evidence.
