Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
timeline and overview of events of typical divorce
I have been married for almost 8
years. I been a stay at home dad to
my wifes 2 boys. It got so bad at home
that I moved out 2 months ago. She's
gone through a divorce before and I
have not. She has all the money and I
have not. I'm almost out right now. I
have a title to one of our cars but
have resisted attaching a loan to it. I
asked for
some and that did not go well at all.
Does she have to pay for this hotel
what about counsoling? I'm looking foe
a job right now but I owned my own
business prior to wedding and have
not since making it a challenge with no
past work record going back 8+ years.
I really am so amazed by her actions I
feel I don't know her at this point. I
belive this might be over money ( she
has a project wrapping up paying
almost 1 million, it has been her focus
for over a year. ) which is painful
because I sold almost everything I
owned trying to help us through her
chapter 13, 5 years ago. Can you tell
me what to expect with cost; timeline;
events-challenges to overcome. She
will hire the best in town I don't know
if that will matter as much as getting
before a judge who can see that see
has no heart.

Re: timeline and overview of events of typical divorce
Often the court will order the party with greater assets to compensate the one with less. This may include support, child support, attorney fees or other assistance. You would need to file a motion for temporary orders at the same time you file for divorce. Her potential earnings will be an asset of the marital estate to which you may be entitled to a portion. You may call for a free consultation.

I think the best thing to do is contact my office and schedule an appointment for a free consultation. I believe that would be more effective than trying to response to your questions here. You may contact me directly by email which is [email protected]
