Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

I am in utah. I lived in a house for 6yrs that my mom owned. I could no longer pay her to live there and I moved out. During the time I lived there she had given me numerous things because she had bought new and had no reason for the old items. She had also bought me gifts being family. She is upset that I moved out and now says she wants the couch and laptop that she gave to me back. She is saying I stole it from her. If she calls the police what happns? What leagal right do her and I both have?

With that kind of dispute, it's clearly a "he said, she said" kind of thing and it may end up in court if she wants to take it that far. The police are unlikely to get involved because it is really a family dispute and they would probably advise her to file something in small claims court and let a judge hear both of your stories to decide what to do.
