Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

My ex wife is clsee to dieing, she wants her family to raise the children, when I believe that it is my responsibility as thier father to raise them. Her family is already saying disparaging remarks and pressuring the children to live with them, is there anything I can do about it? I have also been told they are planning to sue me for custody of the children when my ex dies. What can I do to be prepared?

As the father of the children you automatically have the first right to raise them. If the family sues for custody you will defend showing you are a good father. That includes being sober, not using drugs, properly caring for the children, providing a safe and healthy environment for the children, and generally doing all of the things that a good parent is expected to do.
