Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

My wife and I divorced less that 90 days ago, we submitted a divorce decree modification that we signed and notarized together to adjust alimony. the Judge returned the modification citing that there needs to be a submittal of "intention to change divorce decree". During which past alimony is piling up. Am I liable for the past due amount from the time we signed the modification?
