Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

My x employs a nanny to transport my kids home from school. I transport the kids to school. My Order states I need to pay half of work related day-care expenses.

Questions;

- At what age do the courts deem a child old enough to watch himself (i.e. day-care isn't necessary)?

- Is age the only metric used to measure a child's ability to watch himself? I would argue my youngest is mature enough to watch himself.

- Is transportation of the children to/from school considered work related day-care? My x chose to enroll kids out of area without my consent.

I don't believe a court would consider transportaton by a nanny would constitute day care expenses. There is no official age at which a child is deemed old emough to watch themself. One resourse you may want to turn to is the Division of Child and Family Services.
