My 8 year old daughter was taken from St.George Utah to North Carolina without my notification we both share joint custody

I assume the person who took your daughter was a parent. If the parent did not give you advance notice, you may be able to file for sanctions against that parent, including an order to return the child and/or requiring the other parent to pay the costs of all transportation for visitation.

If you share joint physical custody, you should immediately file a motion with the court demanding the return of your daughter to your custody and ask that your ex be held in contempt.
