Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Utah

Attorney Misconduct

My attorney of 20 yrs. bought my 50% ownership in a TV station in Las Vegas Nevada on time payments. The station was worth $4.5 - 6.5 million dollars at time of sale. He claimed to have personal stock value worth $5,000,000 to guarantee the payments and I didn't need to document the note given our long relationship. He stopped time payments and now claims he pledged all his assets to other creditors. State Bar in investigating my informal complaint. Can anyone help recover my money?

Re: Attorney Misconduct

I am sorry to hear about your problem with a Utah attorney. Any attorney misconduct impacts us all. The Bar may require restitution of the attorney or other sanction that may help restore some of your losses and that would not cost you any more out of pocket. Before I advise you much regarding this particular situation, I would want to know the attorney involved.

Generally most any attorney that does collections should be able to give you a hand. I have a number of posts on my blog about various collection issues //utahconstruction.blogspot.com
