Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Utah

Car Dealership Contract

I bought a car 4 years ago, and realized recently that the Company forgot to sign the contract. Well we were suppose to get a rebate if we kept the contract and sent it in, and found that they had forgotten, so we took it back to them, they looked in their records and found that they did infact forget to sign, so they signed it and back dated it. Now the rebate company is threating to sue me because the company back dated the sales contract. The car was paid off and everything so that wasn't the issue. I guess my question is, can the company sue me for that? They denied our rebate because of it, and said it was criminal for us to take it up to the dealership and have them sign the contract.

Re: Car Dealership Contract

Take all of the documents to an attorney to review. Generally it is not illegal to back date a contract.
