Re: Deposition
You are required to submit to a request for a deposition. Your failure to cooperate may result in your defenses being stricken and judgment being issued against you. The purpose of the deposition is for the other party to learn what evidence and opinions you have, observe your demeanor, and investigate your claims. A deposition is part of the discovery procedures, which also include Requests for Answers to Interrogatories (written questions), Requests for Admissions, and Requests for Production of Documents. Failure to cooperate with these also may result in sanctions. As a defendant you should be doing your own discovery against the plaintiff.
