Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Utah
Am I liable for my guest after they leave my party
I want to serve alcohol to adults over 21 at a wedding I am hosting. I plan on offering a free shuttle and free bed to guests that become to intoxicated to drive. could I be held legally responsible for a guest that left on their own and later got in an accident and hurt themselves or someone else

Possibly. There is a Dram Shop law which places liability on those who provide alcoholic beverages. You need to take care that no guest becomes intoxicated. Call the Alcohol and Beverage Control Commission for more information.
