Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Utah
My Mom took my car because I haven't made the payment on it, what can I do? I have already requested an extension with the finance company, but have not received the paperwork yet so it technically has not been approved until I sign the paper and fax it back to them. The reason I haven't made the payment is because I quit my job to stay home with my son due to a recent death of my new born daughter. My Mom is a cosigner and will not let me trade in the car or sell it, but I do not have the money to pay $800 on a vehicle. She sent someone to my home in the middle of the night to take the car and sent me an email later saying she has stored the car so I can't find it and then sent me a text message to check my email. Is she allowed to keep the car from me?

You mom may have rights of possession if she is a co-signor. You will have to get the money to pay for the car.
