Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Utah

Personal leans

I gave my friend the titles to my

house, 4 wheeler, bullet bike, and dirt

bike along with a note stating if I could

use her snowmobile and wrecked it I

would pay to have it fixed I brought it

back in perfect condition a week later

we all went and I was riding and older

sled that she sold to her brother in law

It was still in her name though I

wrecked that one and did a small

amount of damage I was also going to

move in with them and a verbal

agreement was made to pay 300 a

month when I fully moved in I never

did fully move in now they will not

return my titles and said they were

going to put a lean and keep all my

title till I pay the 300 plus damages to

the sled I never agreed on paying for

can they do that

Re: Personal leans

It appears that they are going to do that. Your recourse is to sue them in small claims court. However, expect that the judge will order you to pay the $300 first.
