Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Utah

restraining order

My oldest daughter has a boyfriend who is, at the least, verbally abusive. My children live with their mother and are constantly exposed to this kid and his volatile temper. He does have a criminal record. Is it possible for me, the non-custodial parent, to have a restraining order put on this kid to protect my children?
