selling of mortgaged property

if a person sells you a vehicle without disclosing a lienholder then who is the rightful owner and what can be done to get the vehicle back

In order for there to be a valid lienholder, the lien must be recorded on the title. If nothing is on the title, there are no valid enforceable liens. If the sale was made with a lien holder on the title, then the lienholder has superior rights to the purchaser.
