Legal Question in Health Care Law in Utah
I had a baby in Feb, of 2010 when the pregnancy started I went to this doctor where they have you see 7 different doctors during your pregnancy so the first visit I saw my doctor, then the next visit I saw another doctor, and the third visit the doctor that was supposed to be there wasn't there and they didn't bother to call and tell me ahead of time so I had to see an intern, every time I went in to the doctor they did something wrong and made the visit a big hassle for me, so I went to another doctor, now I am getting a bill from the first doctor and am not willing to pay it because the first visit they didn't do an ultra sound like they were supposed to do so the new doctor couldn't tell when my real due date was the second visit the doctor came in heard a heartbeat and left and the third visit supposedly was cancelled and I refused to leave until I was seen and the intern came in pushed on my stomach, hurt me and that was it, I made a complaint to the doctors office and my insurance company, but now they are threatening to send my account to collections I am wondering if there is legal action I can take to stop the collections, even in small claims court or something because I do not think I owe what they are claiming I owe.
thanks

You can sue them in small claims court for breach of contract and failure to deliver services.
