Legal Question in Immigration Law in Utah
I came to America from Brazil in Jan, 2012, we met in Aug, 2013 and got married in May, 2015. I had a 6 months tourist visa that I overstayed.
I was wondering what benefits I'd get if I waited for our 2 year anniversary before sending the papers. What would be the fastest route to become a U.S citizen?
I have a 20 years old brother who lives with me, once I'm a citizen can I request a green card for him? I know it takes long, can he get a ssn and "be safe" until he waits or will he have stay illegal?
Thank you

Short answer:
Benefits of waiting, you save the filing fee and hassle of doing the I-751.
Fastest route to become a U.S. Citizen, file to get residence and stay married, don't wait.
As for your brother, you can apply for him once you are a citizen, not before. He will not be safe. His best bet (fastest route) would be to get married to a US Citizen as well.
