Legal Question in Immigration Law in Utah
I am working at the Mexican Consulate in Salt Lake City. I am dealing with a man that has to renew his driving privilege card. to do this he has to provide his finger prints and since he is a status violator he is afraid he'll be deported. what should I tell him?

Status violator? If only that he has violated his status, he should be okay. They are mostly focused on criminals, so if a criminal history turns up, then he should worry. However, it may simply depend on if ICE is so busy that they are only focused on the criminals. Giving your name to anyone that could be passed to ICE is a risk. Similar to filing an I-130, there is a risk that you are giving the information to ICE to come get you, although that is not usually the case unless there is criminal history. I hope that helps. As of yet, to my knowledge, only those with crimes have been sought by ICE.
