Legal Question in Insurance Law in Utah
My car was totaled in a vehicle accident and I owe more for it than insurance paid to lien holder. Can I sue the party responsible for the accident for the difference in what insurance paid to the lien holder and what I owe to to them?

You may sue the other party - however, you are entitled only to be made whole for your loss. If the car was worth less than the amount owed, and the insurance paid you the market value of the car, you have been made whole.
