Legal Question in Insurance Law in Utah
Our daughter was on our medical and dental insurance after she was 18 years old. She incurred dental expenses that exceeded what the insurance paid by about $1500. Since she was over 18, is she responsible for the difference or are we responsible since she was on our insurance. The dental agency is taking us to collections but I thought she would be the responsible party for the extra.

Even though she was on your insurance, because she is an adult she is responsible for her debt. Make a statement in writing to that effect and tell the collection agency not to call you any more, but only contact you in writing. IF they continue to call you can sue the agency for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
