Legal Question in Insurance Law in Utah

being sued, even after settlement was taken!
i was involved in an accident in March, i have taken responsibility for. since then the person i hit, has claimed personal injury and is sueing me for damages.on the day of the accident and after the officer had arrived, the person denied any injury and said,'' no thank you'', to an ambulance. i called my insurance immediately following the accident. my question is when my insurance company gave this person the settlement, cashed it and made the repairs why am i being sued? this person also got my personal information such as my home address and had his attorney mail a nasty letter to me stating i need to contact my insurance company. the claim has been closed for alittle over a month. both my insurance company and i thought it was all said and done. when the claim was coming to an end the person said they were fine, thats why we did not worry. my vehicle damage was more than 5,000 and i was forced to buy a differnet vehicle. is this something to really worry about? is my insurance really going to take care of this as they say?

Notify your insurance company of the lawsuit and they will take care of it.
