Legal Question in Insurance Law in Utah
Title defect
I purchased a brand new house and found, after closing, the description of the property is different than the actual land. The title insurance company (selected by the builder) is talking about a deductible amount of $1200 if I file a claim. What are my options?

Re: Title defect
You must get the title deficiency cured - otherwise you cannot sell the home, and may in fact not actually own anything. Talk to the sellers to see what can be done to fix the title, it should be their responsibility.
