Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah
Automobile Insurance
Is it legal for a company to require, as a condition of employment, an employee to sign a form stating that the employee's personal automobile insurance is responsible for any damages that may occur to the employee, or others, when the employee is using a personal vehicle while conducting company business?

Re: Automobile Insurance
It is not illegal, but may be unwise. If you are on company business and get in an accident and are at fault, the company can still be sued. If you take this job make sure you keep your insurance paid up.
