Is there a limit on how long a company can descriminate against hiring someone who had a fellony conviction. I know government agencies typically only ask for last 7 years, is there a limit on private companies?

Re: Background checks
There is no limit from a private employer. An employer may voluntarily limit the inquiry period, but there is no law limiting the time about which such an inqiury can be made.
