Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah
My company hires college age technicians to install residential security systems. The company's name is Pinnacle Security, LLC. They provide housing for all employees that work for them during the summer sales program. My boss told me the other day that I will have let some of my married employees go (not let them work) or give them the option to live with another married couple or live with single employees. Is this legal? Because the company provides the housing (their name is on the lease) can they really tell us that because they are married they have to live with other married or single employees?
1 Answer from Attorneys
If the company provides housing they can dictate who stays there. If your employees do not like the provided housing, they can obtain their own.
