Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

Contract Question: I signed a "standard hourly employment" contract with my employer that had a bunch of stipulations, a couple of which would carry over the end of the contract, which could be terminated at any time by either party. In my resignation letter (which I had the representative sign, although I don't think he read it all - was just one paragraph...) was the phrase, "By signing below, as a representative of T*******, you confirm that all items in the hourly contract between myself and T******* will be rendered null and void at my departure on the 28th of August, 2009."

Would that work, and be considered binding? Or am I still on the hook for items in the original contract?

If the representative had the authority to bind the company it may be binding.
