Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah
At my current job I was hired to work 4 10 hour shifts, that was written in my job description. Now my employer wants to change my schedule to 5 8 hour shifts. Do I have any legal rights to refuse this new schedule?

You can appeal to the HR department if you have one. If you have other terms in your written agreement, read them to see what they cover. Your employer may change the terms of employment, and if you do not like them you can quit. Your remedy will be to file for unemployment. However, your employer can protest your right to unemployment, so consider the damages you would suffer by making the change.
