I was denied for Family Medical Leave
My wife is pregnant and has been having bad pains in her side. I used up all of my vacation and sick leave to take her to the emergency room and help with our children when she was sick. My boss told me to file for FMLA so that I was protected when these emergencies occured. I took the paper work to my wifes obgyn, he filled it out, signed it, and I turned it in. I was told by my HR representitive that I did not qualify for FMLA because my wife did not have a ''serious medical condition'' but on the paper that they gave me about fmla pregnancy and complications from pregnancy is one of the things they define as a ''serious medical condition'' so I was wondering if she can make that call having no medical knowledge and not really nowing the extent of the problem. Also any info you can give about the proper way to dispute this if she is indeed in the wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Revisit the HR person, if she is not convinced, then go to her superior. You must exhause all of your in-corporate resources. If you get no relief then you can sue.
