Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

Equal Pay Act

My charges were filed with the EEOC for gender discrimination that included the Equal Pay Act. I have learned the Utah Appellate Court upheld the Administrative Hearing Officer's decision. My attorney took a job with the Attorney General's Office and cashed my checks but stopped communicating with me last year. After much effort, three months ago, I saw him and he said he would get me a copy of the decision but never has. I got a letter of dismissal from the district EEOC that will dismiss my case if it's not filed in federal court within 60 days. My lawyer said he would not take it any further action but would get my records back to me. The courts have skirted the real issues and not addressed the Equal Pay Act nor Disability discrimination. I proved my case by any standards of human rights. My charges are against a city in Utah. The state has ignored the real issues and now my lawyer is ignoring my phone calls and letters. I need my records to proceed, either on my own or, hopefully, with an attorney brave enough to look at the facts. I understand a conflict of interest but this is looking more like unprofessional conduct. Thank you for any ideas or suggestions.

Re: Equal Pay Act

Call your former attorney and demand your file within three days or you will file a bar complaint and notify A.G. Shurtleff.

Get in touch with the last agency that handled your case of which you are aware and get a copy of their file. Then follow up appropriately.

You may call for a free consultation.
