Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

Health Benefits

If a company offers health benefits don't they have give them to all employees after a probationary period? Or can they pick and choose who they give them to? I sprained my knee at work and to put on light duty, but they sent my home. What is workmen's compenation and how does it work? I have been at this company for over a year and have benefit's through my parent's insurance if I go to school, and tuition was over $1400. I may have to have surgery on my knees.

Re: Health Benefits

Your injury should be covered under Workman's Compensation. Call your employer to get the name of a specialist to see about your knee. Your employer gets the doctor's name from their Workers Comp carrier.
