Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

Mistreatment of a child in a day care facility

I work for a daycare and witnessed my grandson being mistreated in the daycare. I reported it and the supervisor and CEO dismissed my charge by turning facts around for their best interest. What is my obligation to report to the State of Utah...I have a witness that will back up what I saw but my supervisor will not acknowledge the truth. The abuser is still around my grandson and has been promoted and is a floater in the daycare so all of the children are now exposed to her. The daycare is part of a catholic organization and they are covering up my claims. The CEO refuses to meet with me without including my supervisor who has lied...what can I do. What are my rights as an employee to meet with the CEO without the supervisor. I have requested a meeting with him 4 times and he is refusing to meet with me alone.

You are required by law to report the mistreatment to the Child and Family Services. If you fail to report you could be cited as an accessory. Regardless of what actions your employer takes, you have an obligation to protect the children. Call CFS.
