Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

non rehirable list??

i left a corporate company several yrs ago and i've found out recently i'm on their ''not re-hirable list''. i gave 2 weeks notice, the president of the company told me it wasn't necessary to stay for 2 weeks but would pay me for the 2 weeks (severance), and i left on great terms. I recently applied with one of their branch offices and was told that i was on this so called list. i inquired with their HR dept as to why i was on this list since i left on great terms, and their response was:

''based on my review, I have classified you as not rehire able. Sorry, we do not explain further.''

Do I not have a right to know why??

Re: non rehirable list??

You can send a written request to the HR department and request copies of your file and the exact reason for your non-re-hire status. They may or may not respond. You could try to sue, but unless you were management or under contract, it is not likely that you would prevail.
