Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

I was recently laid off due to supposed financial troubles within the company. This was about a month after my employers found out that I was pregnant. I shared a job title with the owner's daughter, who had been there a year longer than I, but who had received poor quarterly reviews by our CFO since I had been there. I had received positive reviews since working there, and received several raises. Before my pregnancy, they encouraged me to continue my education in order to become manager of my department. It seems that my pregnancy played a role in deciding my lay-off since the other girl had poor reviews, but would not have to take maternity leave this summer/ possible have to quit to take care of a baby. Does it sound like I have a legitimate concern?

Utah does not grant special protection to pregnant women. Your employer can fire you at any time with or without cause. Your remedy is to apply for unemployment.
