Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

responsibility of employer to pay travel/work hours

I work for a major government contractor overseas in a hazardous location. I am authorized a mid-tour trip home. On my return to work location travel after this break I have to rely on military transportation. I am paid travel time to a european location. Then am unable to attain military travel for 2 weeks. The company said that there was not a way to pay me for this 2 weeks on the contract. I am salaried exempt. I feel that they have to pay me as they paid me to leave my home already and I am salaried. They said I had to use vacation or holidays if I wanted any pay for that 2 weeks. What can I do about this?

Re: responsibility of employer to pay travel/work hours

The terms of your contract together with any applicable company policies and procedures govern how travel is paid. There are no laws that govern that part of the agreement.
