Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah
I have done taxes for 4 years with a company, and every year they have us sign a confidentiality clause. It states that we can't compete with other companies for 2 years. This year I went to work at another tax place and they are telling me they can sue me, cause I broke the contract, can they? My new employee said its not legit because I'm not advertising to their customers or calling them.

They can sue, but the question is whether they will and whether they could win. Ask your new employer to indemnify you if they sue.
You may want an attorney to review the non-compete with the facts to determine the viability of any suit. Also check with other ex-employees to see if the company actually sues.
