Unemployment for Hostile work enviroment

I am not sure that I submitted this correctly the first time, so I apologize it this is a duplicate. I worked for a car dealership for 6 years. During this time the owner never paid me overtime. January of 2006 I worked close to 20 hours a day 7 days a week and he refused to pay me overtime. He gets in my face yelling at me he has poked me in the chest with his finger. I have come home more times than I care to remember crying. I could not go into all the things that have happened. What finally brought it to a close January of 08 I fell at work and was taken to the hospital. When I filed for workmans comp. He tried to talk all the witnesses into saying that they did not see me. He changed all the locks even on the filing cabinets and tried not to let me know. I saw the locksmith, when I tried my keys they did not work. When I confronted him he said his insurance said to change the locks. He started to treat me worse than before. I finally quit. I had 80 hours of vacation coming and he refuses to pay that. He owes me over $3000 in overtime. Not to mention he cheated the GM out of salary. When I brought it to his attn. He ask if the GM new when I said no. He told me not to say anything. He has me still totaly scared.

You have several issues here. My suggestion is that you contact the Utah Labor Commission. They may be able to help you more efficiently than an attorney, at least to start with, and it won't cost you legal fees.

Prepare an orderly written description of the events and circumstances.

There are possible substantial penalties to an employer for failing to pay wages. And by the way, if he retaliates in some way there may be additional state and federal violations for your former employer's behavior.
