Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah
utah labor question
Is it legal for an employer in the
restaurant industry to hold a server
liable for a dine and dash situation
and/or mandate the tipping of the
bar and bus staff? We as servers
still have to claim that money on
out taxes.

Re: utah labor question
If you are the one who collects payment from the diner, you can be held liable for a dine and dash.
If you are required to share your tips with others, you are only liable for the amount of tips which you actually receive.
