Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

Violation of rights?

I work for the government. I had a heart attack on the job. My supervisor had two employees take me home to my front door. I was told they did not have to seek medical attention for me unless it was medically related. Is this true? Also, I was seeking medical attention from doctors trying to find out what was wrong with me. Again I was told that they didn't have to work with me on my doctor's appts. and tests. Is this true? I found a flaw in my retirement program but no one seems to have any answers or wants to help me. Should they correct their problem or am I just stuck with no retirement fund?

Re: Violation of rights?

The behavior of your employer does seem to be wrong. Once the employer knows you have a health issue, it should have taken you straight to a hospital. I do not have your specific details, but I think a review by a lawyer is a good idea. Your employer does have to allow you time for medical appointments. Without knowing what the flaw is in the retirement program, I cannot evalutate what needs to be done. See a lawyer about this problem as well.
