Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah
work rights vs. privilages?
Hi, some of my co-workers and myself are trying to find out what kind of rights we have here at work.. we temporary work in a large trailor that is used as a club house at a golf course, therefore we don't have a drinking fountain, and the manager of the food and beverage department is trying to make us pay for any kind of beverage that we want (which is understandable for soda, juices, etc. that cost her money) but what about water? should we be getting water for free? (what about ice? she'll give us water if she HAS to, but probably not ice) or do we have to pay for it? we think it should be provided with the job. are we wrong or right?

Re: work rights vs. privilages?
I am not aware of any law or regulation which requires that water be supplied to workers. On construction sites the workers bring their own. However, your request is not unreasonable, talk to your employer and see if some accommodation can be made.
