Remaining possessions left by missing/delinquent tenant

I have two tenants with a month-to-month lease. They were both incarcerated in another state and will not be returning for some time. What are my legal rights on the possessions that were left behind? What actions can I take?

You must go to court and file for eviction and then get a marshal to evict the tenants property even though they are in jail.

You will have to go to court and evict the tenants to regain possession of the apartment. If the tenants do not make arrangements for their personal property, you must have a sheriff remove the property. Notice must be given to the town. The town will store the property for a statutory time and then sell the property at public auction.
