My husband and I were served with eviction letter in Dec of 2005 to pay that month rent or move out we decided after having so many problems with this ladlord to move out in 3 day's. He took us to court and asked for trebel damges and a judgment granted him trebel damages in the sume of 8,900 we don't understand how this is posible and need to know if there's anything we can do? we have filed a hearing for the judge to dismiss that judgement,My question is can a landlord do this and get away with it? and do we have any right's as far as this judgement and I need to know what trebel damages means and more info on it. Thank you
