Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Utah
Unknown owner of property
I recently purchased a commercial builing in Salt Lake City which had a pay phone outside of it. The pay phone did not work and after several attempts to track down the owner of the phone it was tossed in the trash. About 4 months later I was notified by the owner of the phone that it was his and that he now wanted me to pay him for the phone. Since the phone was on my property and I attempted to find the owner before throwing it out is there any recourse the owner has?

Re: Unknown owner of property
The seller should have notified you of any arrangement with phone owner. Ask for any paperwork and you may have a claim vs seller.
