Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Utah
I wrote a few weeks ago aking about my kicked in front door not being fix by our landlord and Alvin Lundgreen of mt,green wrote back confirming that we as tenents have every right to with hold rent until it is fixed. Well it has been over a month now and still remains unfixed however rent of course is due again with our ***hole landlord threatening eviction. What should we due? Although we are currently with holding rent reeally we have no extra money to even send but our gratefulness is so unwritable. however appreciation is very thankful. We have four little ones trying to win this life yet seems like no break anywhere. So again thank you for time effort knowledge and considration upon responding.

Notify the landlord that you are using the rent money to repair the door, pay him the balance. Tell him if he does not give you credit that you will file suit in small claims court and seek a judgment for the amount you had to pay to repair the door. Make sure you pay the remaining rent when due. Make plans to get a new place as soon as your lease expires.
