Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Utah

attorny responceability to resign as ones council

If i engaged the services of an attorney and paid him a sum of money but recived no recipt and the sum of money was ample for the work to be preformed or at least a very good down payment, If that attorney did not want to continue working on my behalf, shouldnt he or she be obgilated to resign in a professonal maner and notify me of such. he just quit taking my calls and does not return any messages no has he made any attempt to return any or all of my money!

what rules or laws govern the conduct of an officer of our courts who pratices law in both utah and california. can he be held accountable for his conduct and what happens to my problem in the mean time. I asked him to lidigate some property i had in a storage facility and the time has now come for the storage people are auctioning my things and so forth. please offer me a suggestion on what i should do

The attorney has an obligation to account for all of your funds upon your request. He must also keep you informed of the progress of your case. You can file a complaint with the State Bar Associations with each state. You may want to talk to another attorney regarding your property case.
