Harrassment by a police officer

My ex-boyfriend told me he was contacted by a stike force agent who was claiming they are investigating me and told him to stay away from me that I'm no good! He also called me a whore! The officer lied and said I was working with him on another case. What can I do about this. Isn't it slander? How can I find out if they are investigating me and for what reason? My ex gave me the agents phone number, should I contact him of not?

Never believe the enemy. Think about the character of your ex? Is this a man who is responsible, mature and caring towards you? Is his history one where he acts in your best interests over his? Have you been involved in any activities which would raise the interest of the police? If the answers are all "no" then cease contact with the ex and if he continues to harass you get a stalking injunction against him.
