Non refundable service for gift certificate

My children bought me 3 gift certificates good for 45.00 each to pay for 3 personal training sessions. After 1, I decided its too much for my back yet, maybe too much ever (I have a handicap sticker and everything)because I have a back fusion and I still have pain. I want the $ back for the 2 sessions not used. The rec center says no to monetary refunds (its on receipt). I can put it toward a membership, massage, etc. I just want the $ to help pay for physical therapy.

Since the sale of the gift certificates was made subject to the condition that there were to be no cash refund, you will have to settle for a massage.
