Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Utah
A physician ordered blood test without my knowledge or consent and the lab is charging me $1200 for the lab work. Am I obligated to pay the lab?

You had to give the blood before the lab test. You had to know at that time there was a reason. Your failure to inquire may mean you have to pay. However, the doctor had a duty to advise you about the costs. A $1200 test is pretty expensive and you had a right to know. You can file an objection with the doctor and see what they are willing to do. If you are not satisfied you can take the matter to arbitration if you agreed to arbitration or to small claims court.
