Legal Question in Personal Injury in Utah

If slandered on internet, can I sue in my state?

After a very heated argument in email in which I probably used some off color language, twice this person has accused me of sexual harassment and threating him on a public bulletin board on the internet. These charges are totally untruth. After I tell him I will sue for slander, he retracts his statement using sarcastic launguage and saying that I am still gulity but maybe it was not illegal. He uses my first name and email address but no last name. Can I sue him and if so, can I sue him in my state of TN if he lives in UT?

First of all, what are your damages? I don't know what was said. Did this person publish the e-mail to a third party? If there is no publication to a third party, you do not have a case. Finally, you have a six month statute of limitation in Tennessee.
