Legal Question in Personal Injury in Utah

While getting my truck serviced at a local franchised shop, an employee damaged the side of my truck when he sideswiped a corner safety pole. It caused a dent and paint transfer. I supplied three estimates and they agreed to get the damage fixed for the lowest estimate, and pay for it with a credit card. This seems "under the radar" to me, and I'm not comfortable with that. I feel that I am being "handled". What is their legal and financial obligation to me for the damage and hassle they have caused? My truck is a '97 and not pristine, but have kept it in great shape since purchasing it in 2000. Honestly, I would rather live with the dent and use a cash settlement to repair other problems with my truck. What are my options?

You can request payment from the shop in exchange for a waiver that you would sign and give the shop showing that you were satisfied with the payment for the damages.
